Getting the Most Out of Your Child's Bedroom Space - By: Stanley Lewis

Most of us know how cluttered a child's room can get, and it is easy for a room to become a great big mess. One of the other problems with a child's bedroom is space to put things, and trying to maximize the space available. If your kid's room is small, then it is even more important to organize it.

There are many different ways you can get your child organized, and you should start as early as possible. One of the things you can start with is their bed. Instead of having the child in a bed with the frame on the floor, why not purchase a bunk bed style bed. These are ideal for a single child, as well as ones that share a room. There are many different styles and models available. The single bunk beds utilize the area under the bed frame in many unique ways. First of all there is plenty of storage space to put clothes, toys and books, and many of these units have desks built into them.

There are other double bed bunk beds that are shaped like a T or an L, which gives added storage. If you have to have your child on the floor, you can buy organizers that slide right under the frame. These storage units are ideal for storing small items, shoes, as well as that can double for extra clothing. When you can, try to find furniture that has built in storage, like a bench seat that opens up and doubles as a toy box. These come in handy when your child has guests over, they can easily throw things into the storage area and remove clutter. Building shelves are easy to do and provides much needed floor space for your kid to move around.

Sometimes you have to think out of the box when it comes to organization. You can use shoe and sweater storage units that hang from the door or in the closet for taking care of smaller or lightweight toys, and these are cheap and easily available. There are also many stacking storage containers that can be used and decorated in what ever way you child desires.

There are other ways you can open up your child's room. One of them is with the chairs. You child will probably need at least one regular chair for sitting at their desk, doing homework, playing on the computer, or whatever, but for any other seating arrangements, why not try bean bag chairs? They come in many different sizes and colors, are quite durable, and can be tossed in a corner or stacked up when not in use.

There are many different resources online to help you, and you can find many good organizing ideas at many websites. You can find many products, including organizers, bunk beds and closet helpers at local retailers, saving you much money on shipping. There are websites where you can find bean bag chairs that are made from high quality materials that are double lined, separating the outer covering from the actual bean bag.
