Getting Rid of Acne and Other Problems With Your Skin - By: Hemma Zhang

Having acne is not something most people enjoy. Dealing with zits and pimples is something that most people find embarrassing. Dealing with breakouts is something that most of us hope that we will grow out of in time. The truth is that, if you don't take care of your skin, acne is something that can follow you all the way through your adult years. Some adults are so acne prone that they perpetually look like teenagers who have just hit puberty and do not know how to clean their faces properly. Here are some of the things that you can put into practice to keep acne off of your face. If you want to keep acne away, keep reading!

Keep your hair away from your face.

The reason your hair should stay away from your face is that your scalp produces oil which gets transferred to your hair which can then clog your pores if your hair is in your face. If you have long hair that spends most of the day hanging in your face, the oil is easily transferred from follicle to pore which is how pimples are made. Having bangs or long hair is certainly appealing, but remember to keep it pulled up off of your face if you want to prevent breakouts. Braids, ponytails and headbands are the easiest ways to keep hair away from your face. Your pores will be grateful!

If you suffer from extreme acne problems, you'll want to find a cleanser that contains a high level of salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. These are stronger cleansers that are made for the express purpose of clearing up extensive acne. It is important that you only use these cleansers when you've proven that gentler methods do not work because if you use these harsh cleansers on sensitive skin you could do more harm than good. When you suffer from extreme acne issues, though, strong cleansers with these ingredients might be just what you need to break through the clogs and clean out your pores.

If you do wake up to an acne flare up, do not let yourself pick at your face! Never squeeze or pick at zits. You should always leave your acne alone so it will heal properly. You can still wash your face and you might even want to treat some acne with acne reducing products but do not ever pick or pop your pimples. Sometimes acne will take a little bit of time to heal. What would you like to see the most? A spotty face for a day or two or a scarred face forever?

There are plenty of ways to keep your skin healthy and acne free. A twice a day face washing might be all you need. Someone else might need a more invasive facial cleanser. Some prefer to keep acne away with a healthy lifestyle. Take your time to experiment and figure out what works best for you. Be patient and give something time to work.

Don't give up too quickly--many acne fighters take a while to start working properly so give each method a few weeks to do its job before deciding that it doesn't work.
