Get to Know About Ayurvedic Herbs For Arthritis - By: Allan Michael Taylor

Ayurveda is an medicine practice which believes that illnesses and other conditions are caused by the imbalance of the body, mind, and the spirit. Ayurvedic do not make use of commercial medicines that westerners have gotten used to taking. Instead, their forms of treatments are all natural and herbal. This does not exclude the cure for the bothersome condition of being an arthritic.

According to Ayurveda, arthritis is caused by an excess of ama (improperly digested food particles which are stuck in the stomach) and a lack of agni (the metabolic and digestive "fire" which is responsible in nourishing the body, the feelings, and the thoughts). This imbalance│disproportion is caused by poor digestion and a weak colon. When you are suffering from│experiencing this imbalance, the undigested food accumulate and they buildup toxins in the body. The toxins reach the joints and therefore you suffer from arthritis.

There are ayurvedic herbs for arthritis. Their goal is to stimulate the agni or the digestive fire and suppress the ama. Basically, there are three categories│types of arthritis in Ayurveda: vata, pitta, and kapha. Before you get any treatment, it is important to know which condition you have. If it's vata arthritis, your joints pop and crack. They become dry but not swollen. On the other hand, if it's pitta, your joints are swollen and painful even without you moving. Your skin may also be red and hot to the touch. Kapha is the type of arthritis which is characterized by swollen and stiff joints too, but they feel cold and clammy instead of hot. A little movement may relieve│ease the pain.

Although the ayurvedic herbs for arthritis that you have to use will depend on the type of your condition, there are general Ayurvedic cures that you can use. Since arthritis is caused by the lack of agni, there are some things you can do to start the fire again. The following are the on how to do just that:

- Foods and herbs – you must consume hot and spicy foods and herbs like galangal and cayenne.

- Detoxify – You must go three a three- to five-day detox diet. You should only have vegetables, fresh juices, spices, and herbs. You should not stop detoxifying until you feel that your body is already showing some significant│important changes. These changes are: return of good appetite, clear coating to the tongue, and a feeling of lightness.

- Colon cleansing – You have to cleanse your colon. You may use enemas to help you with the process.

- Herbal oils – Other forms of ayurvedic herbs for arthritis are oils. You can use herbal oils on your skin to help your body get rid of toxins, relieve your pain, and restore your mobility.
