Again, since there are internet trends, after awhile, you may have to change methods/ styles to adapt to the trend.

Quite recently, some internet genius transmitted viral traffic. Like a biological virus, viral advertising needs a host/ carrier. Your current website visitors, customers, subscribers are your carriers! They refer others from their social network back to your website. It can also be when other webmasters send traffic to your site. Isn’t this great? One would have never thought about getting excited over a virus, wouldn’t they? It’s an exponential increase in traffic without you having to do all the work.

Whatever works for you, you still have to weigh your options. Some sites use something like a “refer a friend script” on their site. They also include some kind of free assistance like a Search Engine Submission page. It is on that page they suggest you either refer it to a friend or link back to them.
