Inline skating is roller skating where the roller skates have three to five wheels that are arranged in a line – hence the name ‘inline skates’. The most popular make of inline skates is rollerblades and this brand hit the world by storm in the eighties and nineties.

When it comes to buying inline skates you can find a high quality range available for affordable prices these days. Padding is required for the elbows and knees and you should protect the head in the form of a helmet. If you want to buy a pair of inline skates for yourself, then make sure you choose a pair that are made for recreational use rather than hockey. You’ll find they have more stability and support around the ankle. If you don’t know what the difference is look out for those with four wheels rather than three or five.
