Get Helicopter Pilot Lessons From Rotor Aviation - By: Toan Dinh.

Helicopter pilot lessons can free you from your routine. Imagine being able to skip the most arduous parts of your morning and evening commutes. Instead of spending precious hours in bumper-to-bumper traffic, what if you could take your personal helicopter directly from your backyard to your office? Is this a far-fetched scenario? Perhaps, but with help from Rotor Aviation, a San Diego provider of helicopter pilot lessons, you might be able to take steps towards making it a reality.

Rotor Aviation has been serving the San Diego area for a number of years, and their pilots have a huge amount of helicopter experience, derived from years of commercial helicopter piloting. Helicopter pilot lessons from Rotor Aviation will quickly bring you up to speed on the basics of helicopter operation.

Rotor Aviation provides a number of different styles of helicopter pilot lessons, for everyone from the casual learner, to the aspiring commercial pilot. The most basic level of helicopter training available from them is the private pilot certificate.

Helicopter pilot lessons leading to a private pilot certificate consist of a basic set of exercises, designed to quickly familiarize a novice pilot with the elements of flight. Private pilot certificate aspirants receive a total of eighty hours of helicopter pilot lessons, including forty hours of flight time, thirty hours of dual flight instruction, and ten hours of ground instruction. At the end of the lessons, two tests are administered: one written, one practical [in other words, a flight test].

The next highest level of helicopter pilot lessons available from Rotor Aviation is instrument pilot rating training. Instrument pilot rating training consists of fifty additional hours of instruction, including thirty hours of flight instruction, ten hours of simulator instruction, and ten hours of ground instruction. An instrument rating certifies a pilot to fly under adverse conditions, using only flight instruments and instructions from air traffic controllers. Helicopter pilot lessons of this type are considered an excellent next step for the beginner in need of additional experience and confidence.

Rotor Aviation also offers helicopter pilot lessons for those interested in earning a commercial pilot’s license. This is a more rigorous course, and a private pilot certificate is a prerequisite. Those who submit to this type of helicopter pilot lesson are ordinarily interested in becoming professional helicopter pilots. Students at this level receive 260 hours of training, including 150 hours of flight time, one-hundred hours of pilot-in-command flight time, and ten hours of instrument flight time. Students at this level must also obtain class two medical certificates.

Finally, Rotor Aviation offers helicopter pilot lessons to those interested in becoming certified flight instructors. This round of training includes fifty more hours of instruction, and is intended to build on experience gained during training for a commercial pilots license. Most entry-level jobs for beginning helicopter pilots are as flight instructors, so this certification is popular.
