SDHC cards can increase productivity in many ways, and anyone who finds themselves constantly pushed for time and working to deadlines should have at least one on their person at all times and invest in several useful gadgets that can help them with work. Using a journalist as an example we can demonstrate how by keeping an SDHC card and several other gadgets around we can maximise productivity and get more work done in less time.

The first thing to remember is not to waste any time at all. There are several things that we need to do on a regular basis and one of the most time consuming is travelling; to and from work, on business trips or even during leisure time. If you commute to work on the tube or bus, then that gives you concrete time when your hands are free to write or work. Using a laptop is often actually fairly impractical however as they require their own carry case and a considerable amount of elbow space. Netbooks however save a lot of space and weight with screens of 7-12’’ and weighing around 1-2 kilograms meaning that they can easily fit into a backpack or shoulder bag and be used unobtrusively in confined spaces. With an SDHC card then, any work can be done on the train and then uploaded at work, meaning that a writer could have already finished an article or piece of copywriting before even getting into the office. With a netbook you can also easily work during a work break or in the hotel room too.

For those who drive to work however, hands should be kept firmly on the wheel. For this reason typing on a netbook isn’t going to get you very far. However as any writer knows, writing articles is far quicker if the ideas are already down. Another technique then is to dictate articles and record them, then simply type them up when you get to the office/home. A PDA with an SDHC is great for this as most include dictation software and are easily portable.

As well as word processing, an internet connection is also very important for productivity. This allows the writer to research their material, while a business man or woman might use it to check and respond to e-mails. iPhones are known for the fact that they come with permanent 3G (and now 3GS) internet connections, though many other smart phones now do as well and will also support SDHC allowing you to communicate with your computer, netbook and PDA more easily.

While all these gadgets make full advantage of the digital age In order to allow for greatly increased productivity and connectivity, the most versatile and practical solution remains no doubt the analogue option. Yes, the humble pen and paper beats all from the PDA to the netbook and is crucial for any professional regardless of their vocation allowing them to take notes, draw pictures or write reminders with no load time and no need for backup.
