"No man is an island". This phrase simply connotes that man cannot happily exist without personal interactions with people in the community he is living with. No matter what he looks like or what social status he belongs, still he is entitled to his ultimate right why he was born - to live a happy life. Living a happy life means having better relationship with people around him that we always called as friends and love ones. Hence, partnership with someone whom you want to be special is indispensable.

When do we start making friends? As early as an infant, though cannot verbally express our real intentions, a cry or a chuckle simply shows our need to be taken care with somebody special to us. Until, we fully developed our communication skills, particularly as we reached the age that made us responsible of what we are doing, the search for special someone seems our foremost task to make things more colorful. We begin with the simplest relationship with the person who acknowledges our intentions of getting involved with as friends.

Why make friends?

Friendship is not merely making fun out of games or excursions or sharing jokes. It offers many things more than our parents could. A Friend, in the absence of parents or guardians, is the immediate person to share with problems when no one else tries to understand, a special someone to lean on in times of troubles, who does not turn away a shoulder when needed the most, and who is always visible when everyone seems to disappear.

How can friendship be measured?

The degree of friendship can be measured only when no serious affection is developed either of the two parties. When usual activities fall on its normal level, friendship then is still dominating the relationship.

What make friendship so important?

As we all know, friendship is a pre-requisite to a much deeper relationship called lovers. When serious affection is manifested either one of the two persons involved, the cord of the current relationship is extended beyond the degree of friendship and the acceptance of the other may extinguish their friendship and a new relation is emerging to a degree where courtship begins. Apparently, when mutual feelings are developed, friendship is completely dissolved.
The situation then is becoming more serious and more complicated that each one would have a strong desire to settle down and submit to each other in whole more than friends can offer.
