Frequent Marketing Blunders Deadly To Online Business Success - By: kathy jhones

It is possible that the percentages for IM business failures is very comparable if not higher than that for offline businesses. Only about 20% of all new businesses in the US make it through more than a several years. It is impossible to know all the individual reasons why so many people fail at internet marketing. Mistakes of all types, spread out all over the place, are perhaps the single greatest killer of online goals. Quite often people are wrong when they come to the business table in the first place. But it doesn't matter why the errors are made - the only thing that counts is they are made and can produce disastrous results.

It is simple to follow the mistaken belief that providing enough choices for people will certainly capture the greatest number of them in your marketing and advertising net. We all enjoy having options, so it is an understandable feeling to want to provide them to possible customers. However, alternatives are often a killer of sales, but yes it can depend on the situation. But in general, you don't want to provide a load of options - perhaps one option can be too many. You see, it has to do with human nature - in certain circumstances people have a difficult time with decision making. Buying choices are very tough for a lot of, if not most, people to make. They can be filled with a great deal of doubt that it is far too convenient to just ignore it and not buy.

If you can be accurately described as being, cheap, then that is fine but just make sure you never assign that attitude to everybody else. We are talking about thinking everybody buys at the cheapest possible price - that is patently false. Look all around you, there are low priced, inexpensive, and outrageously priced goods and services in all markets. As you know, many higher listed products have been around for a very long time. If everyone was cheap, all those companies could not have survived as long as they have. There are many reasons why some people prefer to spend on excellent items. If what you promote can be sold at a premium, then do not hesitate to ask for a fair price for it. What you need to do is learn how to position your product in your marketing material.

Most people know about the thought of mindset that something is so fantastic that everybody will want to buy it. It is possible that a lot of people have had that kind of thought. On the other hand, over the years there have been several products that seemed to appeal to everybody. But there has never been a product from a single company that everybody on the planet purchased. What you need to be careful about is when you have that thought it will make you lazy in your promotional work. It will be so easy for you to wander the path of unrealistic expectations once you have that frame of mind. Not everyone will want to purchase from you, or your product or service.
