One popular way to supplement your income is to carry out free online surveys. This is where you sign up to certain companies to carry out online surveys for them. This type of survey is very important to companies as it gives them the feedback they need to enable them to carry out target marketing and to plan their marketing strategies.

Some websites will claim that you can earn thousands of dollars at a time carrying out these surveys and whilst there are sites which will pay you a decent amount of money for your surveys, you have to do a great number of them to make such money. This is not to say that it is not a good idea. People do make money from online surveys: you just need to know the right sites to visit.

You simply provide information about yourself and answer questions on the product that they are asking about. Sounds simple? You need dedicated to give truthful answers, remember you are actually carrying out a marketing questionnaire where the data will be used to help ensure the marketing direction of a company, be it a large company or a smaller one.

People worry about being scammed in this type of online survey situation and there are plenty of sites out there which will con you. For example, some will have you answering questions for ten minutes then will pop up and say that you do not qualify to fill in the full survey. This means that you have wasted the ten minutes and will not get your money. This is why it is so important that you can access the better of the free online surveys available.

Some online marketing firms will operate a cash threshold that just be reached before you get paid. This gives you an incentive to keep doing more surveys to reach your threshold, but it is worth it in the end. It is best to look out for the highest payers to get the best rewards for your work. It could hardly be referred to as hard work!

Sign up to lots of these sites to help make the money and if you sign up to an account which pays in cash or points they will have a threshold before they pay you anything: once you reach that threshold you should cash in your points or cash immediately.

Another piece of advice, never pay to sign up for surveys. You need to be signing up for free online surveys, some scammer sites ask for around $80 to register, you will probably never get that money back in earnings with these sites so beware of that one. Sites such as these will offer you old links to past surveys and won't bother to take the time to update their list of available surveys.

If you have the time and the patience and the dedication, you should be able to make a fair amount of money carrying out online surveys. However, the key to success is having a large list of survey sites so that you have live surveys available at your fingertips whenever you feel like doing one. Some make it their day's work and can earn a good living from free online surveys. Definitely not a waste of time!
