You can also find many free documentaries worth a look. The bad news is if you are looking for free downloads of current blockbusters, you are out of luck. You can buy the movies once they leave the theaters and are released to DVD � usually once they�ve appeared on pay-per-view for awhile.

Of course, most affordable are the �free movies�. However, newer releases usually will cost you at least a few dollars to download. Still, that beats the heck out of driving to the theater, buying tickets and paying a babysitter. At Vongo.com you can enroll for a free fourteen-day trial period. During that time you can download all of the movies you desire. At the end of that time, you may quit or enroll as a member with a monthly membership (currently) of $9.99. You will not find first-run movies (those still in theaters) at Vongo.com or at any other legal site. You will, however, find many pretty current titles. Vongo stocks movies of all genres � including comedy, romance, drama, horror, musicals, documentaries and more. If you can�t find something at this site you like, it would be surprising.

Additionally, once films are no longer under copyright restriction, Turner offers you the ability to download them at no charge. Currently, you can download �McClintock�, starring John Wayne. This is only one of many good movies available for no charge and at your convenience.

CinemaNow offers movies for rental � these movies are typically quite new. Currently, you can rent Sweeney Todd, Juno or No Country for Old Men (the Oscar winner) for $3.99 each. �Renting� at CinemaNow means downloading the movie to your computer � unlike Netflix (and others) that ships the actual DVDs to your home. You can not burn the movies you rent from CinemaNow to DVD � they contain encryption codes that prohibit such action.
