Four Great Road Trip Destinations - By: ArticleSubmit Auto

If you love to travel, but aren't too keen on being x-rayed or groped at your local airport, then you may consider taking a road trip. Road trips are popular with everybody from colleges students to large families. One of the reasons they are so popular is you have complete control over your traveling. You can stop when you want, go as fast or as slow as you want, or even push yourself to the limits.

If you like the idea of jumping into your car and hitting the road for a few days, but aren't sure where to go, then this article is for you. I'll give you a few of the more popular destinations for road trips in the United States. If any of these sound like it might be fun, then it probably will be. All you need to do then is pack your bags and get going.

One great place to point your vehicle at Colorado. This state has pretty much everything you'd want (except of course if you'd like to go surfing.) During the summer months the weather is mild, and there are plenty of mountain trails for hiking and you can perhaps do some rock climbing if that's your cup of tea. There are also many rivers that provide opportunities for fishing, kayaking, and white water rafting.

New Orleans is another place that is a magnet for road travelers. The famous Jazz, the world famous cuisine, and atmosphere is all you need to pack your trunk and hit the road. With various internationally famous festivals year round, from Jazz to Mardi Gras, you'll never be at a loss for something to do.

Boston is another popular destination. This city is rife with historical landmarks, as well as friendly pubs with a hometown atmosphere. There are also plenty of museums and concerts to choose from, as well as many world class sports teams.

If you like driving into the sunset, then you should consider going to California. This state has beautiful mountain ranges, thousands of miles of beaches, and some hot desserts. If you'd like to check out some beautiful architecture, consider heading north to see the world famous Golden Gate bridge. If you like the glitter of Hollywood, head to the south and take a walk down Hollywood Boulevard. You may bump into your favorite movie star.

Whichever destination you choose, you are bound to have a great time. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time so you can really enjoy all that America has to offer. Take time getting to your destination, and take plenty of time there. Since you'll be driving and setting your own schedule, you don't really have to worry about crowds, so you can go any time of the year. Summer time is ideal if you've got kids in school. Take your time, and have fun.
