Fool Your Metabolism So That Your Weight Loss Wouldn't Hit A Plateau - By: Seymour Lindsay

If you are like many people, then you have tried quite a few diets, with varying degrees of success. You may have lost some fat but you generally get to a certain point and then nothing you do can help you shed more pounds. This plateau that most people hit, is typical with almost all diet plans. You simply can't prevent the plateau problem if you don't learn how to trick your metabolism.

You've probably already dealt with the plateau problem which will probably have caused you a lot of discouragement and ended more than one diet regime. This is an odd thing that happens to even the most successful dieters sometime close to the third or fourth week of the diet they have picked. Up to that moment, the weight falls off and then it just stops and absolutely nothing you do can get your body to shed more weight. This is the body responding to the changes you happen to be putting it through. Your body switches into protection mode to stop starvation, so it slows down your metabolism. This, then, will keep you from being able to lose more fat.

This is what causes people to think they are not capable of losing the weight they want, and they quit trying. This is the time many people go back to eating and start putting on back their weight usually more than they lost initially. The way to avoid this is with a diet where you transfer calories. What you really are trying to do is consume a different number of calories every day, which is designed to fool your metabolism. If this works on your body it will not go into "protective" mode. This will keep your body's metabolism working, as opposed to slowing down, and your body goes on to shed weight. If you get to this point, you have passed your plateau and your diet will keep working the way it was designed to work.

It is pretty simple to integrate this type of plan into your day to day life. One of the most popular calorie cycling techniques is the 14 day method. The program goes for 14 days, where you do the standard plan for 11 days, and then 3 days where you try to eat what you want. You can switch your foods during the day and deceive your metabolism and then for three days eat what you wish to eat and avoid the plateau. This can also help you from becoming frustrated with a stringent diet regime. You can keep repeating these 14 days until you really feel happy with the amount of weight you have shed.

One other popular program is the 2 day plan in which you eat as normal one day and the next day reduce your calories by between twenty and thirty five percent. You do this every couple of days for as long as it takes you to achieve your weight loss targets. This is a program that you have to try, because it could be exactly what can get you past your plateau, to where you will lose all the weight you want.
