Five Uses for Your 64GB SD - By: Steve Mc Karmik

SD cards are highly useful and have a range of benefits for modern living – particularly for those who have multiple electronic devices and like to work on the go. With a 64GB SD card you will have plenty of space to play with and will be able to benefit greatly from having so much storage that will fit easily into a wallet or your top pocket and not even be noticeable. Many people will not realise the full potential of their 64GB SD card though and will not use it to its fullest. To help you get the absolute most from your memory card, here are some suggested uses for them that can help you to make several aspects of your life easier.

For transferring files: There is little use for USB sticks these days when you can easily carry with you a 64GB SD card. Almost every device has an expansion slot for SD cards (except Apple products) which allows them to very quickly and easily communicate with each other. Even without such a slot, you can add SD compatibility by using a portable SD card reader that will plug into the USB port of any computer to give it that functionality. This way then, if you want to get some music off of your phone and onto your PC, or vice versa, all you have to do is take out the the SD card and then drag the files over. This is also much easier than 'syncing' a device with a computer or having to carry around a USB lead.

Using Your Phone's Internet Connection: If you need to send or receive a file then you will likely need to do so on your computer. However there are times – such as when travelling with a laptop – that we don't have access to any internet connection unless there is wireless around or we are carrying a Ethernet lead. As such then to be able to work on and send files, all you have to do is receive them on your phone (which likely has some kind of internet connection) save them to your 64GB SD card, then put that in your PC. Alternatively to send files all you have to do is save them on the card then put that back in your phone.

Backing up files: If you're concerned about losing crucial files, then the best way to solve this problem is to back them up. There are many ways to do this – you can use online backup services, portable hard drives, other computers and more – but a 64GB SD card is a great way to keep a small copy of a file with you at all times and to save regularly and easily. It also means that you will always have it on you if you need to use it at short notice.

Transporting information: If you need to take a file somewhere for whatever reason, sometimes it's best to do this physically. To avoid having to carry your laptop with you everywhere though, you can use a 64GB SD card to keep a copy of the file on you without adding any weight pretty much, and certainly without taking up any space.
