Five Tips to Beat Fatigue - By: Andrew Raw

It happens very often, the more so in the cold season, to feel exhausted, even if we have sufficient rest, a healthy lifestyle and a balanced system. You did not run the marathon, we did not climb mountains, but we are tired and we are not in the mood for anything other than sleep.

It is natural: the many requests which we have to face both at work and at home make life hard. We can we afford not to "cave in"; we have to use several methods to regain our energy.

Use astringent masks: Cosmetic products that contain natural extracts, essential oils and small quantities of alcohol, have affects that will show very fast: your skin will be invigorated; it will gain a fresh and rested appearance.

Sleep: I will say that you do not get enough sleep. But how can you be sure? If you stay up until midnight watching TV or in front of the computer, sleep certainly will not be restful. In fact, most likely you will have a restless sleep, you will turn in your bed and you will wake up tired. It is advisable to turn off the light at latest at eleven o'clock.

Healthy food: Sweets and beverages containing caffeine do give you an "infusion" of energy, but the effect is transient and before long you'll feel even more tired than before. Replace these items with dried fruits (apricots, for example), figs, almonds and fresh grapes and peaches. A large glass of orange juice and carrots is an excellent alternative.

Go out for a short walk: The end of the world will not come and any the company you work for will not go bankrupt if you will allow yourself a "breathing moment" for 15-20 minutes outdoors. This will help you put order in your thoughts and you will return to office with a cool head. A study made by the Medical Faculty of Duke University, in the United States, has shown that short walks are very effective for people suffering from depression. After only eight minutes of walking, 82 percent of study subjects said they feel more relaxed and less nervous.

Check with your doctor: If, in spite of all remedies, fatigue persists and is corroborated with other symptoms (insomnia, loss of interest in daily activities, dizziness, and headaches) you should go to a doctor and make a set of tests. Physical exhaustion may be a sign of anemia.
