First Car Rental Wins Silver at South African Service Awards 2011 - By: First Car Rental

JOHANNESBURG - FEBRUARY 2012 - Promoters and organisers of the South African Service Awards, Smoke Customer Care Solutions, have announced the winners of the 2011 South African Service Awards that took place over the period 1 September 2011 to 30 November 2011.

Earning the Silver Award, First Car Rental was placed in 2nd position in the Travel and Related Service – Car Hire division - and received 1007 votes over the three month period with an average customer satisfaction score of 89.86%. The service awards are based on achieving the most votes over the set period with a final average customer satisfaction rating of 80% or higher to qualify for a placement.

Says Melissa Storey, Executive Head: Strategy, Development & Marketing at First Car Rental “This is a great achievement for First Car Rental as we were in the same category as older and larger global industry players that have more volume and therefore more customers that could vote for them. The most pleasing element is that our average customer satisfaction rating of 89.86% was higher than the Car Hire division average customer rating of 88.5%. This means we are first in service – living up to our brand promise.”

There were 10 569 South African consumers that registered to vote in the South African Service awards, with over 100 000 votes received and 8 major categories that were identified to be rated.
