Are you finding it hard to discover your true calling? Are you uncertain as to where you can really find your passion in life? If this is the case, then don’t fret—you’re definitely not alone. In fact, most people do have a hard time trying to figure out what they really want to do with their lives (and some are just good at faking it). What most fail to understand is that the discovery is a very gradual process. The answer won’t just fall into your lap; you really need to go on a journey of self-discovery, and how long this takes depends on you.

If you want to speed things up, though, here are five tips that can help ease your endeavor:

1. Go through old photo albums.
A little bit of nostalgia can go a long, long way In terms of finding your true calling. What better way to find your passion in life than to look back on fond memories? These memories will prompt you to remember the things you are most eager about, and this just might lead to the epiphany you’ve been hoping for! Think about what the younger version of yourself was thinking as they posed in those old photos. What were this younger version’s hopes and dreams? Can you imagine yourself fulfilling those same hopes and dreams and being truly happy?

2. Spend more time with your friends.
When you’re with your true friends, the real you comes out of its shell, right? That’s a great way to find your true calling! You can even tell your friends that you’ve been meaning to find your passion, and have been having trouble pinning it down. They’ll definitely help you out, doing their best to remind you of the things that get you most excited. The more comfortable you are with the people around you, the clearer your head will be, so set up a pizza party or movie marathon at your house once you can!

3. Look through online job sites.
It doesn’t matter if you already have a job at the moment. By looking through online job sites, you just might find your true calling. You may be able to find your passion as you sift through the countless different occupations out for grabs. Which of these offers jumped out at you? Which ones were you actually tempted to take on—and not because it paid a lot? You may think that you’re alright with your current job, but looking through these kinds of sites can actually bring out your more genuine feelings about what you want to do with your life.
4. Take night classes.
The spare time you have after work can be the perfect opportunity for you to discover your true calling. Enrolling at the local community college or civic center for a night class or two can definitely help you find your passion in life and have fun at the same time! Try to get more than one course so you can have a taste of the many different possibilities for your future. The more you get into each of these classes, the clearer your idea of what you want to do for the rest of your life. It’s never too late to go back to school!

5. Try automatic writing.
You’d be surprised by how powerful a simple pen and a sheet of paper can be when it comes to discovering your true calling. That’s right—you can find your passion in life by simply doing an automatic writing experiment. Take the time to sit down and just keep writing the first things that come to mind. Eventually, real thoughts will start to flow out from your pen, and one of these thoughts just might be what you really want to do with your life. Tap into your subconscious and see what it has in store for you!

Any five of the above tips can help you get started on your journey to find your passion. You can try more than one tip if you really want to get things up and running!
