Fearing Failure? It May Be A Precursor To Your Success! - By: Maria Rattray

Do you fear failure in establishing your online business? Is your fear so real that it makes you reticent to even try to make things work?

You know, when we first start out in an online business, the one thing that we fear most is the possibility of failure. Lodged deep in our psyche, is the knowledge that success is not going to happen overnight, and lodged even deeper is our worry that things simply won't work out at all.

But if we reason this out, we will surely come to the realisation that failure is part of the pathway to becoming successful. Once we have that notion in place, and once we accept the part played by failure, we can begin to understand that, just as we might struggle along the way, we might just as easily succeed.

Let's face it. Failing to succeed is hard to take. It wrecks our equilibrium. It plays havoc with our psyche, and it comes at a time when the naysayers rear their heads and remind us that, after all, they did warn us! But in truth, believe this. Failure is only failure if you cave in to it and allow its destructive force to have its way.

Let's stop and re-appraise this. Could things look just a little different if we could see our failures from a different perpsective? Let's try to imagine all our struggles as successes.

As no doubt you are aware, the New Year is almost on our doorstep, a time when almost the world over, people start to make their resolutions, their goals, for the year to come. Maybe, instead of making some new-fangled resolutions for change, you might like to think about ways in which you may be able to deal with your challenges - hatch a failure plan perhaps? That could simply be a decision by you, where no matter what happens, you determine to stay positive and in charge.

To do this, just think about the different ways in which you will advertise your business -perhaps online advertising, some banner ads, flyers at a particular shopping mall, warm marketing, e-mail marketing - you get the picture. Accept that you are going to fail many times over, and determine that you will always celebrate those failures. Highlight every failure, every week, and then celebrate each and every one of them. This will sound like madness to some people, but you know, whether you believe it or not, the fastest way to become successful, is through accepting your failures. Realise that there is no one business in the world that does not experience failure at some time or other. Perfection is non-existent in the business world. So now, if you can accept failure, if you can celebrate its existence, then success will follow.

In all of this, you must realise that in percentage terms, many online marketers do fail. But be assured. It is not the business that doesn't work. Rather it's the person trying to operate the business, who, at the first hint of failure, gives up. This is simply an indictment on them really. Instead of re-vamping their action plan, instead of learning from their failures, they simply just cave in and accept defeat.

But take heart. The percentage of businesses that do succeed are the ones that make incredible profits. They are the ones you are after.

So my advice to you is to take the bull by the horns, decide on your tactics of operation, and stop worrying about whether things are going to work or not. Ignore the naysayers. See the glitches along the way as part of the success road you are travelling on. Plan to celebrate your failures and soon those small diamonds of success will show up on your doorstep. Go on then! I challenge you. Plan to accept your failures and go on to enjoy your successes.
