If you have not been on a family holiday yet this year then you may be thinking of avoiding it all together until next year when hopefully you will have more disposable income. There are some great deals to be found at the moment so if you want to, you still can.

As we head to the end of August, prices start to go down as the peak summer months come to an end. With the children back to school soon, you only have a couple of weeks left to decide on your destination. With a variety of options available you can decide which one suits your requirements and your budget.

There are some good deals to parts of Southern Europe including Southern Spain and France. Here you will be able to enjoy the fantastic weather and superb culture that can be easily found. Around these areas there are plenty of towns and cities that may not be as popular; this is generally because they are not in all holiday brochures.

Places like Pamplona in Northern Spain where the Running of the Bulls is part of the San Fermin festival which takes place between 6th and 14th July. In fact, Northern Spain is a great place to visit, as well as Pamplona there is also Oviedo, Santander and of course Barcelona where there is so much to see and do.

Thanks to low budget airlines, flights to places to Europe are cheap to purchase if you buy them in advance. Arriving in Northern Spain can also allow you to hire a car and travel into Southern France; there are 2 different cultures to be experienced here. You can travel through Biarritz which is a nice place to visit; Biarritz is part of the Basque Country so there is a mix of Basque, Spanish, French and, of course, English.

Family holidays are great to spend time with the family, sometimes you are probably wishing the summer holidays to finish so the children are back at school. Entertaining them for 7-8 weeks can be tricky and expensive. However, spend time whilst you can as the time soon flies by.

If a foreign holiday isn’t for you then there are always loads to do here in the UK. We have a fantastic history and with many towns and cities showcasing it, maybe its time we all looked to embrace it more. Wherever you choose for your holiday, enjoy it and take a well earned rest.
