Blepharoplasty ( also called "eye lift" ) is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and/or fat and muscle from both the upper and lower eyelids. Upper lid blepharoplasty surgery takes approximately 1 hour and this can be performed under local or general anesthesia as an outpatient. Recovery time is approximately 2 weeks. Lower lid blepharoplasty surgery takes approximately 1.5 hours and it can also be done under local or general anesthesia. Recovery time is approximately 2 weeks.
