Facebook Marketing, Is It All Just Spam? - By: Justyna Lam

Facebook marketing is no doubt extremely powerful and there are thousands of mlm and network marketers making sad attempts at marketing. They go out and start marketing their business opportunity to all thier friends.

They start sending messages, posting on their friends walls, and posting on as many group walls as Facebook allows. They are advertising and prospecting extremly hard with little to no success to show for it.

The failure with Facebook marketing is due to the fact that they are not marketing on Facebook but spamming. That's right, you're not getting leads from Facebook because you're spamming people.

Here are some examples of spamming:

Example 1.
"Hi, thanks for accepting my firendship. You seem like a very nice person. I want to share with you an amazing opportunity. The products are the best on the market and the compensation plan is revolutionary. Blah, blah, blah…"

When I get to the "opportunity" part I usually stop reading and delete the message. I can guarantee you that I'm not the only one.

Example 2.
"Hey, let me tell you about this incredible business opportunity, get in now so that you can get on top possition before it launches."

This type of message usually gets a grunt, an eye roll and gets deleted.

Example 3.
"Hi, you want to join a business?"

I've received a few of these messages and always wonder what that person was thinking sending it. This message is quickly deleted.

If you are sending mesages like this or posted them on your friends Facebook walls you were actually spamming. Myself as well as some of the industry's best are guilty of spamming on social media but they quickly learned that its not a way to market effectivly and that it will get them banned form those sites.

You should ask yourself this question. Why should any one join you or your business?

They don’t know you, don’t trust you and most people on Facebook really don’t care about your business opportunity.

Facebook is a social gathering where you mingle with friends and make new connections. You network with other marketers, have interesting conversations and contribute value to others. If you try to sell on Facebook you will start loosing friends and you even could be banned from the network if people report you.

Proper Facebook marketing is about promoting yourself and growing your brand, to build trust with your friends by sharing valuable information. You friends will appreciate this and start trusting you as the person who is not just another network marketer promoting an opportunity but as someone giving away valuable information.

Do yourself a favor stop spamming and annoying your friends and work on creating a Facebook marketing campaign based on growing your value and sharing value with your friends. That is how marketing on Facebook will start being effective.
