Every nation is governed mostly by the dictates of the influential and in particular the mood as espoused on the ground. Politically, no nation can move without the input of its citizens, however, the crucial difference is noted when those in power behave in a manner to suggest that, they have the final authority over the masses, hence introducing new concepts into all spheres of administration without prior consideration of the eminent effects the proposed changes could effect. For instance, the American populace over the decades has been subjected to paid medical care, various reasons has been cited in relation to this phenomenon which has churned billion of dollars from the poor in the name of better health. But the big question is, where did the government fail, or who is to be blamed, health service providers or the public.
Generally, the evolution of this health problem can be traced to the very day the government ignored the purpose of availing government backed health care system to its citizens. As a result, there occurred an explosion of private health service providers whose sole aim is to make profit rather than cater for the needy. From the point of view, this phenomenon has continued to gnaw at the American health system, currently, most physicians are complaining of low payment, while medical administrators are in arms against what they call unethical or draconian control of their profession. This coupled with the governments lack of political good will has resulted in the current state of affairs. On concept of equity according to American definition, and what the consecutive regimes have been labeling as liberalism, the entire health system has been neglected and where the government showed has any interest, established health service providers and drug companies, it has been noted more than often has been against any move or managerial plan to overhaul the national health scheme (Schumpeter 85).
Therefore, by looking at the general genesis of health sector, it’s imperative that, the bulk of health financing comes from private quarters; this is attributed to the fact that, the American government has placed the bulk of health services in the domain of private sector. Thus though there is a considerable input being amputated such as stipulation of hospital services by veterans administration hospitals and marine and military hospitals as well as state and country hospitals, with the conception of ambulatory care, the a spectacular federal programs and networks targeting the poor has been designed but their execution is insufficient in that, the public health sector is poorly funded (Starr 198).
The reflection of a private executive configuration in American health care is well founded. But that view, too, is incomplete. Considering that, it plays the cardinal role of providing health services and cover to the affluent, its scope is out of reach by the ordinary folks who cannot afford to pay the exorbitant service fees charged by those companies’ and institutions. Therefore, the problem of class division in the American society has its root in the way the political patronage has dictated and prevailed upon. hence, such government programs as Medicare and Medicaid, which were designed for the sole purpose of helping the poor cannot be able to handle emergency cases due to understaffing and funding, though they provide services to almost half of the poor population, the health discrimination is still persistent, translating, despite the gradual involvement by the government, most of the affected citizens cannot afford to access the basic health services due to the financial gap created by the exploitive private health service providers. Comparing Americas health program with other less developed nations such as Cuba, it is evident, Americas system has not fully developed to cater for all citizens inclusively, therefore, by analyzing the general progress of the whole problem, the blame squarely rests with government failure to address partiality in health care planning, managing and staffing.
