Everyone Now is a Budding Wedding Photographer - By: Terry S Vostor

Over the past century , we have acquired a unique visual education and a universal language, an ability to observe and interpret light through the camera lens. Although we may not grasp the rules of photography's pictorial "grammar" most of us can simply recognize a good and perfect picture when we see it

Incorrect focus can produce an image in which a large area of the picture is unsharp itself. Sort of like looking through "Coke bottle" glasses. Accurate focusing is vital particularly at close distances and when using a wide aperture or a long focus lens - never mind in our millennium, digital prints online and Blogging.

I once heard a photographer say that for him or her the best shots are those that flash by past his train window - too late. Photos and photo images in our life have become everyday and accepted whether on TV, in newspapers , film and magazines or online on websites. "A photograph" remarked the American photographer Garry Winogrand , slightly tongue in cheek " to find out what something will look like photographed " or in 2010 stored in a digital file format.

Many novices base their camera purchase simply on appearances , on megapixel count without incorporating optics and lenses quality , and the pushiness and ability of the salesperson at the big box store in the digital camera dept to close the sale quickly and with an extended psp warranty. They exploit the particular appeal of a subject with subtlety or perhaps with humor, or invest a seemingly mundane and easily overlooked object with freshness. The camera that first started the 35 mm trend , the prestigious and expensive "Leica" is traditionally of the range finder type - although there are SLR Leicas where sharp focusing is achieved by superimposing a split "ghost" image. To a great extent the well known Nikon camera is a take off of the initial Leica SLRs - For nature photographers stalking a simple ant is even more challenging than stalking a lion or pride of lions. Still in nature photography if the prey is involved in seeking food or a kill- they will basically be so busy with their task on hand that they will forget about or even ignore the budding nature photographer. Still ants have the ability to bite as they crawl up the photographers pants and clothes. The camera principally associated with the classic 35 mm film is the single lens reflex or SLR. SLRs convey the scene being photographed through the lens, via an angled mirror and a glass para-prism to a glass screen, so that the screen through the viewfinder is identical to that being seen through the lens itself. Luxury high end digital cameras still employ SLR setups and protocol procedures.

Subject movement is produced when the subject is moving too fast for the shutter speed. It can be prevented by selecting a faster shutter speed , by a larger f stop or by panning the subject as it moves by. The way that you hold your camera depends on any of a number of factors; the type of camera it is , whether it is a landscape or portrait shoot that is being taken and what accessories and lenses are fitted and being employed.

Compact cameras are pocket sized, easy to handle and operate, and incorporate many advanced technical features every increasingly with each new and more technically advanced model. Fog is produced when the "film" or image in the digital viewfinder, is accidentally exposed in the camera itself. In days of old - that of film cameras fog on photos was more common being produced accidentally by careless loading and unloading - in bright sunlight for instance- or by a leaky, ill-fitting camera back itself. Careless handling in processing of professional film studios , or even in modern digital photo printing studio operations - all can produce fog on picture prints.

Such shots may seem wonderfully promising but results promising but results are rarely accurately foreseen - even for professionals there is an element of surprise and even error between observing the scene , taking the photograph and view the final print ,image on lcd screen or photo printed from an inkjet or color laser printer - A close rival to the SLR is the "compact camera". Most employ a direct vision viewfinder or LCD window in the case of digital cameras. However as opposed to the SLR the scene viewed is approximately though not the same perfectly as that seen through a SLR camera lens itself. Excessive contrast in the subject or the lighting produces a harsh image with little detail in either shadow or highlight areas. Often the image is fugitive, like the shadow cast by a cloud, the appearance of a rainbow , or simply a figure of set of figures dashing by. time is the third dimension of the photograph. Voila.
