Everyday items may hold the key to tinnitus remedies - By: Allan Michael Taylor

Tinnitus is a problem that many people suffer and results in them having a constant ringing in their ears. For some of these sufferers however the symptoms can have varying degrees of pitch and loudness so the problem may be relating to one of the following;you may find that these contribute to one of the simplest tinnitus remedies you will ever discover;

Potassium Nitrate

Although thought to be harmless, many people have linked their tinnitus to the use of products containing potassium nitrate. When stopping the intake of anything that contains this, most reported a reduction in the loudness of the ringing and some didnt suffer at all. It is thought that the onset of tinnitus was caused by regular use of products containing this ingredient over a prolongued period of time - more then several months.

Potassium nitrate is more common that you may realise; it is often used in over the counter drugs and is also widely used in sensitive teeth toothpastes. Be sure to check the toothpaste you are using if you suffer from tinnitus, if it contains this ingredient then try switching to a regular toothpaste and monitor the results. You should see a reduction after just a few days.

Salicylate Intake

Again, some people have noticed that they can reduce the level of ringing they hear by eliminating some of the sources of Salicylate Intakes. Salicylate acid is a plant hormone and is found in foods, medicine and cosmetics.

It is commonly found in Skin care products exfoliators, acne, calluses, warts, and anti-dandruff shampoo. Alternatively, Bismuth subsalicylate is often used in stomach relief aids that are used to control heart burn and diarhea.

Salicylates are also found in food such as tomato sauce, orange juice, broccoli, grapes and kiwi fruit. Not a lot of consumers are affected by low doses of salicylates in foods. However, as most people are exposed to them many times a day, this can cause a gradual build up that no one is aware of and can lead to outbreaks of various symptoms - including tinnitus.

Both of these are found in everyday items and even food; By paying attention to the foods you eat and products to use over a 2 week period you should be able to determine if either of these causes a reaction and triggers the ringing to start happening again. This may prove invaluable to you especially if you have been told that your tinnitus cannot be cured.
