Even With All The Mistakes, My Future Is Clear - By: Awfully Good

I just wanted to post about my happiness and excitement as my loving-it-raw.com site starts to snowball!

I started my site in 2009 and made LOTS of mistakes early on. I'm quite embarrassed at how awful it used to look! Nevertheless by taking a lot of hits and quite a few misses, I was still steadily building traffic.

When I started I didn't have any kind of business plan, I had no idea HOW I was going to make money or what kind of site I wanted to even have, I just had a vague idea of, well I'll start a blog about what I eat and people will read it and I'll make a lot of money... Thankfully, I was steered towards SBI by Steve Pavlina's fabulous review, so instead of starting a blog that no one would read, I instead started an SBI site.

I was quite sketchy about following directions in the Action Guide, I would often go ahead and do something and then read the action guide later, figuring out that I'd done it all wrong! So growth was probably a lot slower than it could have been. I would also get a burst of enthusiasm and work for a little while, then get deflated because I wasn't seeing the immediate results and then procrastinate and do nothing for months at a time!

Nevertheless, somewhere along the way, the pieces of the puzzle started to make sense for me and instead of feeling confused and bewildered by it all, I started to feel HUGELY excited. And this is how I continue to feel today.

My traffic daily stats for uniques are between 800 and 1000 unique visitors a day this month.

My main income source is ebook sales (my own). I don't make much from affiliate sales, NOW and again but it's rare to get a commission. My fabulous SBI coach (TJ Chambers) has been helping me tinker with my google ad placement, and the latest placement of ads has doubled my conversion rate in the last few days, so long may that continue!

I expect to make a lot more next month and a lot more the month after. July was a slow month for ebook sales, but I've still made over 600 dollars and there's still a day left!

I don't see any ceiling on this at all, I just see growth and growth and growth.

I have SO much more to write on my niche, I don't see myself EVER getting tired of the subject, there is so much more content to go up and I'll be releasing a weight loss book by the end of the year and I know that is going to do VERY well. I will also be offering coaching services from the site, but that is a monetization option I'm saving for when I've quit my day job.

With all my monetization strategies coming up, I fully plan and expect to be earning 5000 a month within the next year and I can see it doubling in the following year after that.

So if I can give any encouragement to others, it is to just stick with it! If you had told me when I started that I would work at this for 2.5 years before I started to really see the results, I might have wanted to give up.

Looking back, I can say this has been the best experience of my life. I am so excited about web business that it's practically the most exciting thing I can even think of to talk about (pity most others don't have any idea what I'm on about!).

I have a second site that is much neglected (alison-andrews.com) but I will be putting some focus into it as well in the coming years. I am taking the very long term view with this one, as it is more about a platform for me to share things than a very clearly defined niche, but even doing barely NOTHING on that site, it still gets 100 uniques a day. And I have done almost nothing in terms of link building on that one and there is very little on there!

My third site (which I am planning to start shortly!) will be SO niche focused that it will be quick and easy to win. I have learned so much that I know future sites will be a walk in the park!

One of my best lessons to learn is to surround yourself with good people! Outsource! I have great people doing my graphic design for my ebooks, my ebook covers, and a fabulous SBI coach taking care of the more intricate technical stuff that I have no passion to learn. Something that might take me weeks to do (badly), he can do in 15 minutes and do a fabulous job on. So get quality coaching. I also loved the Reputation Build It package that is underway for my site right now. Great people doing things efficiently that I don't have the time or the will to do myself. Elance is also the best for finding quality people to freelance for your business.

I could not have got here without SBI. There is NO doubt in my mind about that. I am absolutely thrilled with it! Thanks to SBI for this amazing product. Even doing a bunch of things wrong (even now I am still going back and fixing up pages that are not optimized well at all), I still got it right and that is because of the incredibly strong support structure that is SBI.
