John Mitchell, owner of the new European Wax Center Boca Fashion Village in Las Vegas, got into the franchise business due to his mother, Terri Jenkins. Jenkins owns and operates European Wax Center locations in New Jersey and saw opportunity in Las Vegas for the franchise. Looking to get her son involved, Jenkins asked Mitchell if he and his girlfriend would move to Las Vegas to open up three new European Wax Center locations, the first being European Wax Center Boca Fashion Village.

Mitchell and girlfriend Angela Martinez agreed to the move, with Mitchell running the operations and Martinez taking over as manager of the newest location. The family decided Las Vegas was a good location, as the brand had not really been introduced to the Las Vegas area. As far as the economy goes, Mitchell is confident that their locations will succeed, explaining, “Everyone said Vegas is not doing well but there is no reason that we can’t.”

Mitchell and Martinez will eventually open up three locations for waxing in Las Vegas, NV, but for now they are focused on the new Boca Fashion Village location. Mitchell and Martinez have been out meeting the local business owners and Las Vegas residents. Mitchell notes, “Everyone in Vegas has been very friendly, it’s a great laid back atmosphere and in the Boca Park area everyone is high fashion, dressed up and looks nice. We can see having an upscale waxing facility like ours doing well.”
