Essential Gardening Advice - By: Marcus Wilson

Because plants are sensitive you need to have knowledge about them to make your garden successful. To make it more likely that you will have lovely garden you should have lots of knowledge about caring for your plants and plan your garden properly.

Don't Forget Your Pets: Most people think that pets and gardens don't mix but that is a fallacy. You just have to be a little more creative. When designing your garden, you need to think of your pet and how to meet their needs. The main problem for pet owners is pet urine and feces, especially since the former can cause brown spots in lawns due to a high nitrogen content. If this happens, simply dust with a little gypsum or dilute it with water. Taking feces into account, you can bury it or toss it into the trash. Remember not to throw it with the compost; it would render it of an unhealthy nature due to the meat your pet ate. One thing to be aware of when you arrange your garden; is to consider where your pets will drink and have a shade supply.

Light is needed for plants: This might be obvious, but it's essential. They all need some light, even if some need more or less than others. Daisies, for example, need as much sunlight as possible to grow, whereas mushrooms don't need much light at all so they can be grown in dark places. This means that the amount of light in your yard as well the angles of sunlight will determine what you can plant and where. Because light is what helps plants to create their energy they need all of their leaves to be exposed to sunlight throughout the entire day at different angles. So you need to get the right types of plants in accordance with the lighting conditions in your yard, which is a fairly easy task as they have labels on.

Make Your Own Herb Garden: Lots of people plant herbs next to their vegetables as the herbs are a natural deterrent to all sorts of insects that may damage your vegetables. On the other hand, you can also
opt to create a separate herb garden with a wide range of herbs. Herbs basically need the same care as vegetables and should be planted after there is no more chance of a frost.

This is because most herbs don't really do well in the cold weather. Herbs require minimum effort and this is why they are good and easy to grow. Also the fresher the herb the nicer it is. Growing herbs is the best way to get them as fresh as possible. Your garden should bring you loads of pleasure. Actually, it should be good for your health, just keep things simple and enjoy.
