Sentosa is one of the most popular island resorts in Singapore, although Sentosa when translated means peace and tranquility in Malay, the resort is quite lively as it enjoys visits from over five million people every year.

Although Sentosa is a peaceful location now, it was once a battleground and the harbour was intended to be a stronghold of Chinese defences. On your visit make sure you go to The Tiger Sky Tower (once known as the Carlsberg Sky Tower) which towers over Sentosa 110 metres above the ground (131 metres above sea level) and will give you the best panoramic view of Sentosa, Singapore, and the Southern Islands. If you fgo up the Tiger Sky Tower on a clear day, you can even see right the way over to Malaysia and Indonesia.
