Emmy Finalists Revealed: 24, Lost, Heroes in the Running - By: Groshan Fabiola

The 2007 Emmy Awards are just around the corner, with the official nominations due to be announced on the morning of July 19, by Emmy-nominated actors, Kyra Sedgwick of The Closer and Jon Cryer from Two and a Half Men. Sedgwick and Cryer will be joined by Dick Askin, chairman and CEO of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, in proclaiming the final five nominees in all top 11 categories of the 59th Primetime Emmys. The live broadcast will be held at the academy’s Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood and will commence at 7:40 a.m. Chicago time.

The Los Angeles Times recently uncovered the initial list of ten finalists in the Best Drama and Best Comedy categories. This group will still be pruned down to the final five by July 19.

The top ten choices for the Best Drama category, including the respective sample episodes provided by the show producers for the voters are:

Grey’s Anatomy – “From Whisper to A Scream”

For the Best Comedy category, the top ten contenders for the final five nominations are:

The Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on September 16 and will be aired live on Fox, from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, from 7 to 10 in the evening.
