Emergency source packages should be located in your domicile, vehicle, and place of work. - By: Jon Leach

With the unpredictability of emergencies you could need your disaster source at any time. There could be an earthquake, severe weather or an unplanned shortage of food. We must always be prepared for our family's safety and well-being in case of an emergency. Being prepared entails having sufficient emergency food source as well as available storage.
The requirements of each person should be what go into your emergency source kit. When preparing disaster packages, it is important to consider implementing one in your home, in your vehicle, as well as your workplace. The randomness and unpredictability of disasters requires you to always be prepared. The kits will not only provide you the necessities, it is possible they will save your life. A disaster package is an absolute must, and therefore you should be educated on what you need to have in them.
I will attempt to show you a few things you should consider. An emergency stock package should be within reach at your home, in your car, and while you're at work. In them you should find medical packages and nutritious items of food. Water is the one thing you should have in your package first and foremost. Each person in your care should be accommodated with at least one gallon of water for each day you will be using your disaster kit. However, if you live in a region that is considered to be relatively hot and humid, you may want to add additional sources of water. Water is only to be used for your wellness, meaning it can only be used for personal sanitation and drinking. In addition to water, you must include food in your emergency packages. You will want to choose the foods that are best in times of peril. These would be foods that are already packaged and don't take much time to cook. Foods that make you want to drink more water are a bad idea. It is also important to ensure that you consider the dietary needs of each individual that will be using the disaster stock kits. Your source of food should last everyone at least three days, and up to seven.
The list of items you should have in your kit is as follows: first aid items, a source of light, a source of communication, sanitation and sanitation accommodations, shelter providing items, means of building a fire and cooking. Many individuals elect to pack up extra clothing, blankets, and other types of protective gear and items that may guard the body during an emergency. In the event of a disaster or other type of situation, it is imperative to ensure that your emergency supply kits have all of the items that you will need to live, thrive, and survive.
Remember: If a storm is coming fill the sinks and bathtubs with water. It becomes beneficial when there is no power and water is scarce. If you have Iodine tablets you can drink it and you can always boil it or use it for the toilets. You might last quite a while without food, but that is not the case for water. Always keep a small camping stove-top in your emergency source package.
