Embrace Yourself - By: LaMont Campbell

Embrace Yourself

Empowerment is not easy road to travel. It’s just the opposite. There are so many aspects, levels, do’s and don’t that it’s difficult to define specific guidelines that will fit everyone. The uniqueness of self, gives us specific guidelines that as individuals, are just for us. Knowing thyself plays a huge key to this rule. There are so many things that define you as a person, that it is the blending of these things that shapes the uniqueness of you. No one shares the same journey. We have our ancestors, our values, beliefs and rules to live by and these can all be different depending on how you view life. These things are integral parts of our road map, our DNA. How we utilize this knowledge, varies from person to person, but we are still seeking the same results, empowerment.

Knowing your limitations, allows you gain complete control over your life. The prayer “God give me the strength to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference” simplifies the conviction you will gain, if you follow and live by those words. You will see things much clearer. Gaining an understanding of what makes you unique, what are your strengths, what are your weaknesses is crucial when developing a game plan for an empowered life. Make sure that plan carries the weight of your past, present and future. Understanding your failures is just as important as knowing what it takes to get it done. Understanding these things will strengthen your conviction and help you maintain your focus. Life will throw you more than enough roadblocks, so you need to be armed with knowledge of self and awareness as how to manage these situations. The ability to persevere through these tough times and uncontrollable issues, gives you control of your life.

Life offers us no quick fixes. It’s the tedious, tireless efforts that make a difference. Once you develop a made up mind, that consist of knowledge of self, value of life and a passion to succeed, you forge an anchor that becomes the starting point in your quest for a better life and a better world. If you want to keep the momentum going forward, push harder than you never have before. Let the world and yourself see what you are truly made of. Your past, your present and your future share the same link, you. Be who you want to be, by being who you are.
