Electrical Drive To Non-engineering Systems Of Control: Attend Control Conference 2011 - By: Zenolite1

Electrical drive and energy systems, intelligence and robotic systems, control system design, time varying and time delay systems: these are the broad areas of research that will be presented at the 13th IASTED International Conference on Control and Applications that will be held on June 1 – 3, 2011 in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Chairing the Control Conference will be Clarence W. de Silva, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, occupier of the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair Professorship in Mechatronics & Industrial Automation at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. A professional Engineer, Prof. de Silva has authored 210 books and over 400 papers. He has received many distinguished Systems and Control awards and prizes, and is a leading journal editor in his field. He holds degrees from M.I.T. and Cambridge, and an Honorary degree from the University of Waterloo, Canada.

Subjects areas covered at the IASTED Control Conferences often include but are not limited to: adaptive control, bio-engineering, control in health, education and theory, control using neural networks, cooperative control systems, decision, discrete events and hybrid systems, environmental systems, fault detection, fuzzy control, genetic algorithms, sustainable energy, heuristics, identification and estimation, digital/intelligent/ linear/non-linear/predictive/process/robust/stochastic/ UAV/UGV/UUV control, mechatronics, modeling and simulation, optimization, power and real time systems, re-configurable control systems, robotics, stability, variable structure control, transportation ,virtual reality in control.

The June 2011 Control Conference agenda is not yet set , but to give you a sense of seriousness of research and quality of presentation, let us look at the keynote speaker from the most recent IASTED Control conference which took place in July 2010 in Alberta Canada. Here, Prof. Tong Heng Lee, Professor & Cluster Head (Control Systems) The Graduate School, National University of Singapore spoke on “Recent Advances in Intelligent Control Systems, & Inventing and Developing an Automated Haematopoietic Stem Cells Harvesting Machine.”

Dr. Lee's research interests are in adaptive systems, knowledge-based control, intelligent mechatronics and computational intelligence. He holds four patents. Further details of his keynote speech can be found at http://www.iasted.org/conferences/speaker-697.html.

Opportunities are available to sponsor the 2011 Control Conference. As a sponsor, your organization can demonstrate new research and technologies, and gain valuable exposure to academics and professionals in your field. Many options are available, from event signage and exhibiting, to product- oriented lectures and sponsorship of coffee breaks.
