Top desk brings lot more benefits and so do bring a lot more responsibilities too along. We can today see how can we increase productivity around the office from the top position and at the same time bring more positively around the office atmosphere. One can probably cleared all the paper work on the desk and all the file work completed, but still one's work is not completed if one is not able to get the things done around the office. If one is running the show as head honcho we need to see that all the other work is done properly and timely and at the same time s need a little more to get the ball rolling so as to successfully complete the work on time without late coffee boosts and late night hours on weekends.

Dress Codes

Certainly your dressing plays an important role in representing your image to others. But following the same dress code the whole week, i.e. suit and tie, is not at all important. You can go for something casual in dressing in some of the days in week. Remember, every day is not a “Casual Friday” but this approach may bring some good response from your employees. Your aim is to make your employees feel comfortable in your presence. Bringing some change in your dress code will help you to find some new friends in the office.

Encourage Ideas

Most of the time, it has been seen that people are afraid to share new ideas and thoughts in fear of being reprimanded. They don’t have enough courage to stand up and speak in front of you. If you ever notice such thing, try to be little more flexible with your employees. Give them the freedom to share their ideas and suggestions in order to improve the company’s repute. Always welcome the new ideas from your employees and appreciate the good ideas as well.

Leadership

Almost everyone has some leadership qualities. Some utilize them and others don’t know how to do it. Those, which are at the top, certainly have some leadership traits in them. But the thing is either you are utilizing your leadership in a right way or not. Simply having a higher rank than others is not a matter. If you are in charge than make it visible through your actions that you are making the right use of your leadership qualities.

Delegate

Escaping from problems or passing the hard work to your employees rarely works for you. Here you have to be more sensible. Distribute the work among your employees and work as a team, you being the representative of that team. This will not only help you get your task completed quickly but also involve everyone to work simultaneously. Never put burden to any one employee when other can also contribute in it.
