There are many ways to get free coffee, but what I am going to show you is the easiest and one that can potentially benefit your career.

But, first, you must break your mental models that are thinking about promotions and winning one year supply of free stuff. What I am going to show you does not work in this way.

This method is going to take place in your work place, where you would be spending most of your time and therefore drinking more coffee. For this to work, you have to be in charge of a commitee or at least be part of this commitee.

One of the most popular commitee is welfare or staff suggestion implementation task force. There are tons of such grouping around, and I am sure there is one in your organiazation, find one and join.

Then, no matter what groups you join, the bottomline is always to better the company profitability. Most of them would use terms such as motivation, morale and team work. This is your cue to get the free coffee!

Suggest to any of this group that motivation is linked to welfare. Employees would definitely be motivated when they are being appreciated, and good welfare is one way to show this appreciation.

Put forward the idea of having a pantry corner to better the welfare of the employees for a start, tell the commitee that you would try to arrange for the whole set up and would try to waive all charges.

Once they approved this motion, you have my word that coffee companies would be flocking to you to trial their machines. The package would be usually free on loan coffee machine and a 1 to 3 months free supply of coffee.

There are many companies in the market, so do not worry if some do not offer free supply of coffee, there are many others that would. One tip is to go for the smaller companies as they are agressively in giving these perks.

Simply by doing this, you would have free beverage in your office for up to at least 3 months. And don't you agree with me that your bosses would be impressed with this arrangement, so there would potentially be some good review for your career?

Of course, ensuring that this trial becoming a regular feature involves some other steps and actions that you would need to implement which I would probably cover in the next article.
