These spreaders do not come with a rain cover or deflector kit so you will want to purchase those in addition to the spreader. They rain cover will protect seed and fertilizer from getting wet if it starts to rain while in use and the deflector kit will help you reduce waste if you don’t want to spread the entire radius. Both of these spreaders will spread ice melt and sand, but not rock salt.
