The second way to find quality earl grey tea bags is to get the highest grade tea leaves possible. Black teas are rated according to an orange pekoe scale. The scale, from lowest grade to highest grade is fannings/dust, broken orange pekoe ( BOP), orange pekoe (OP), flowery Orange Pekoe (FOP), golden flower orange pekoe (GFOP), and tippy golden flower orange pekoe (TGFOP). The higher the grade of tea the more flavors there will be in the leaves. The more flavor in the leaves the more vibrant your cup of tea will be. The more vibrant your cup of tea is the higher the probability that you will find a truly relaxing experience.

When trying to find a good brand of tea check to ensure that they produce their teas with the orthodox production method. The orthodox tea production method is more expensive than the other two methods and so it is used to create higher quality blends.
