E-cigarettes have Come a Long Way. - By: Health E-cigs

Several years ago, if you looked up the dictionary or typed in the keywords electronic cigarettes, e-cigs, ecigarettes or electric cigarettes in any search engines, chances are you will not find any of these words at all. In a short span of time, these seemingly foreign or alien words are getting more and more recognized and widely used in both the internet and real world.

It was Hon Lik, a Chinese pharmacist who is credited to have invented the e cigarettes in 2003 after his father who was a chain smoker passed away from lung cancer. Mr. Lik’s father is only one of the millions of people who have ignored the health risks of tobacco smoking refusing to quit smoking until it is too late.

Spurned by this growing demand to find a healthier alternative to offer to the market, a Chinese company called the Golden Dragon Group in 2004 marketed the e-cigs and patented it as “Ruyan”, meaning “almost like smoke”. Not surprisingly, this was a success in China and other parts of Asia. Not long after, an enterprising business man from the United Kingdom by the name of Greg Carson embraced the concept of the product wholeheartedly and adapted it in the western market.

Since then, electronic cigarettes have had global recognition including in countries like the US, New Zealand and Australia. In Australia and other parts of the world, e-cigs are now are not just available in mall kiosks or retailers but also in electronic cigarette stores online like the Healthecigarette store.

Since gaining popularity, many users swear by electric cigarettes and have completely given up tobacco smoking. It should be noted though that no one under 18 should use this product and no one who is not a previous cigarette smoker should use it as that would not be a sensible decision on someone’s part. E cigarettes should be perceived as a product for those who prefer a better option compared to traditional smoking.

With technological advances happening so fast, the electronic cigarettes are evolving and improving. E-cigarette suppliers in countries like the US and Australia where it is very popular have a wide array of products to choose from. Most e-cigs being sold in online stores and retails stores now have an improved battery life, a sleeker shape and feel with a smoke volume that now mimics traditional cigarettes in terms of actual use and feel.
An added for buyers of electronic cigarettes is that e-cig online shops and other stores also offer a variety of flavors of e-liquids. E-liquids, e-juice or smoke juice are the fluids that fuel the ecigarettes. Some of these flavors include methol, vanilla, coffee, traditional tobacco and a whole lot more.

With all of these positive breakthroughs that have now been made available to ordinary consumers, it is no wonder why sales of electric cigarettes are on the upswing not just in China where it was first marketed but also in many parts of the world. This is such a far cry to how it was just several years ago when the words ecigs, ecigarettes or any words associated with it were virtually unheard of by the consuming public.
