Dos and Don'ts of Using Anti Aging Skin Care Products - By: Charles Cage

The skin is the largest organ of the body. Because of its exposure, it is the most susceptible to damage over time. Soon, skin will age and you will find yourself looking for anti-aging products in stores. Having the right type of anti-aging skin care product work for your skin can be less complicated if you follow these simple dos and don’ts.

Do use skin care products with natural ingredients. Anti-aging products made with natural ingredients are less harmful and can be used for sensitive type of skin. They work in synergy with your skin, as they blend in with your natural oils. If you have a dry skin, apply moisturizers after bathing or washing your face. To improve your skin’s texture and appearance, dermatologists may recommend creams with alpha hydroxy acids. Refrain from using alcohol-based products for long periods.

Don’t dry your face after washing by wiping it briskly. Wiping your skin using too much pressure is something you need to avoid especially when you are currently using skin care products. This will cause your skin to get stretched or stressed. When washing your skin, avoid applying products in downward motion. Dry your skin by gently wiping it with clean, soft towel.

Do cleanse regularly. No matter how many anti aging skin care products you use, your skin will still be as dull as it is if you don’t clean it regularly. Use mild cleansers with anti-oxidants such as vitamin C and E. Make sure these anti-oxidants get into your skin and make sure you do this before you sleep at night. You may also give your skin a facial at least once a week to scrub and exfoliate.

Don’t forget the other parts of your skin. You may focus on your facial skin to stay young, but you also have to consider the skin of your other body parts. If you are using anti aging skin care products such as moisturizers, exfoliating creams, and toners, make sure you apply it evenly on your skin. Signs of aging can also appear on your neck and shoulders, so you better check these areas regularly and care for them as well.

Do consult your dermatologist before using any anti-aging skin care product. You may use various anti aging skin care products, but are you sure they are all good for your skin? One way to find out is to ask your dermatologist. You have to make sure that your skin care regimen will match your skin chemistry; otherwise, it won't work as much as you would have expected or it may even trigger allergic reactions.
