Donald Duck- The laughable Disney Character of All Times - By: Mark Bennette

Watching the goofy antics of Donald Duck on TV will bring the nostalgic memories on how much you enjoyed this character. The way Donald gets irritated by his nephews, Chip and Dale, Humphrey the Bear, etc and how he expresses his anger will bring uncontrollable laughter.

For many years, this laughable Disney character has been entertaining our lives. It is credible to one’s belief on how this character has found a place in people’s heart. Unlike Mickey Mouse, who is charming and the essence of a gentleman (I mean gentlemouse), Donald is hot-tempered but always believes in the good things that could happen in life.

Yeah! It sounds funny on how a hot-tempered and easily irritable character could be happy in life. Well that is how Donald is. No matter what the situation is, he tries to remain happy and cheerful. But once the molten lava of anger bursts out, then there is no stopping him. He goes to any extend to just cool the anger of his. Sometimes his anger takes the better of him by getting injured or beaten up and bruised, but he does not stop until he settles the scores. Seriously there are times when Donald would fight to keep his temper, succeeding to a certain extent; but ultimately he returns back to his angry, aggressive character.

You may feel that like other notable Disney characters, Donald is coward. But, trust me he is not. He may get scared and intimated. Now once intimated, Donald goes for the kill and even fights with ghosts, sharks and forces of nature. Sometimes he emerges victorious and boldly displays his courage but most of the times he is at the receiving end.

If you have watched the Disney cartoons, you will realize that the main rival of Donald is not his nephews and Uncle Scrooge, but Mickey Mouse. Donald does not like the way Mickey is treated and always gets irritated when something nice happens to Mickey. He tries to outshine Mickey in many things and proving that he is better. It can be said that the rival is similar to Bugs Bunny and Daffy, with the slight difference that unlike Bugs; Mickey does not know about the deep hatred Donald has for him.

Also unlike Daffy who always plans to create troubles and hurt Bugs, Donald does not intend to harm Mickey and always helped Mickey. Whenever Mickey is in trouble or in dire need of help, Donald is the first person who comes for the help. Even if he does not come, Mickey always asks the help of Donald as he regards him as his best buddy. There was an episode in a Mickey Mouse cartoon where while Mickey was giving moving quotes to a customer; Goofy accidentally pushes a piano towards Mickey. It was due to the timely save by Donald that Mickey escaped without a scratch. This shows how much kind and good person Donald is.

But at times, Donald can be a little boastful character. His arrogance is equal to his temper. Once he becomes an expert in something, there is no end to the bragging he does. This bragging has always leaded him to many troubles from which he somehow skillfully escapes. He is of course jack of all trades in fishing, sports, music, etc as he is a perfectionist. Donald believes in giving 100% to the work assigned to him and you could sometimes become fooled into thinking that he is lazy. Why? It is because in most of the cartoons, Donald is shown as unemployed and spending his free time lazily sleeping on the hammock.

One thing that you will cherish about this cute and fluffy little cartoon character is that he is simple at heart and never shies away from expressing his feeling especially his anger.
