Do not hesitate to have a Car backup camera mounted in Your Car - By: FanFan

I think you may hesitate to install car backup camera mounted on your car. But there are a lot of reasons to have such a device of aftermarket, the main one is to prevent injuring someone while backing up. As we know by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, more than 200 people were killed and 14,000 injured in backup collisions accident in 2007.
Wireless
Wireless camera technology is now available in car backup cameras which makes installation easier, less expensive and requires less modification to the interior of your car. Earlier car backup cameras required mounting the camera and routing a cable from the camera through the interior of the car to the monitor mounted on the dash. Wireless cameras are easy to connect to a readily available power source at the rear of the car.
Wiring Inspection
You should check the installation to be sure the camera functions as it was designed to. There should be few visible wires at the car camera and monitor locations. The camera power should be wired to the reverse tail light so the camera is on only when the car is placed in reverse. The monitor should be wired to an electrical circuit that is controlled by the key so the monitor cannot be turned on when the car is not running; this will prevent the monitor from draining the battery should it be left on inadvertently.
Camera Installation
Typically, the car camera is installed on the bottom of the rear license plate, and the camera gets its power from the backup tail light. Due to this, installation is much easier and little, if any, modification to your car is required.
Monitor Installation
The monitor is usually mounted on the dash using long-lasting and heat-resistant double-sided tape. The monitor is then wired to the electrical system of the car. While many car backup camera systems permit you to insert the monitor directly into the accessories power outlet, a professional installer should connect the monitor to a fused circuit under the dash.
Camera Inspection
Make certain the camera is installed so it provides you with a clear view from the rear of your car. Have someone walk close to the car while you watch the monitor. You should be able to see all the way to the ground, close to the car.
As we know many of the injuries and fatalities caused in backup accidents happen to kids. Because kids are much smaller and shorter than adults, you should make sure the car camera will completely cover all view behind the car.
