Do You Wear Contacts? Have You Tired Daily Disposables Yet? You Might Want To Consider Them? - By: Shawn Grant

Contact lenses offer many people with poor vision the opportunity to correct their vision without wearing glasses. Whether a person wants to support their sporty lifestyle or simply perfers the look of contact lenses over spectacles, They offer a high level of convenience that attracts millions of new wears every year.

Advances in technology have led to daily disposables. These light, disposable lenses mean that wearers no longer have to worry about a continuous cleaning regiment. At the end of the day, the wearer throws away the used pair, and then in then morning, they simply take a fresh pair from the pack.

Contacts that are worn for long periods need to be thoroughly cleaned daily to remove the build up of calcium, protein, and lipids that can form, making them uncomfortable and unhygienic. No matter how carefully a wearer cleans his lenses, it isn’t impossible to remove all the deposits that build up.

Wearing contact lenses for prolonged periods can lead to infection and medical conditions like corneal ulcers. This condition is a result of small organisms which thrive in the warmer, moist conditions. Daily Disposables are considered to be the healthiest option, because of how often they are changed. There is less risk of infection.

When a wearer is involved in activities where there is a high risk that contact lenses could be damaged, dailys are the cheapiest option. When a lens falls out, he can simply replace it with another one.

The disadvantages with daily disposables centre around insertion. Dailys are really soft and thin by comparison. Because of this, putting in dailys can be problematic. While being inserted, they can become folded in half. Additionally, because of their thinness, daily disposables can rip during insertion, making them unwearable. One other drawback is that soft contact lenses may absorb contaminants, such as soap from our hands. These contaminants irritate the sensitive surface of the eye.

Buying dailys may seem more expensive, if you compare just the cost by itself. However, to clean your contacts daily, you are also going to have to buy cleaning products. When these costs are taken in to account, dailys really are not more expensive than traditional lenses.

Daily disposables really are a more hygienic, hassle free option for the wearer.
