Do You Want Abs Like a Greek Statue? - By: Nick Hallale

For centuries, the perfect male body was represented by the Greek ideal, and if you've ever seen a classical Greek statue, you'll understand why. Today, the athletic physique of a Greek statue remains as awe-inspiring as ever, even though it's not nearly as massive and "ripped" as a modern bodybuilder.

One of the outstanding features of the Grecian ideal body is its perfect midsection. A narrow waist will make your shoulders look wider and help give your whole body that classic streamlined look. A trim, flat stomach is an essential part of that look too. Even today, a toned stomach with a "six-pack" is rare, and can make all the difference between a perfect physique and simply being big.

Now that you know why you want an abdomen like that, let's turn to the next big question: just how do you get it?

Good question. Let's look at the answer.

If you want to have an abdomen like a Greek statue, there are three secrets, or pillars, that you need to know. If one of them isn't there, you won't get the best results.

Pillar #1 is the correct abdominal training. The best exercises will target the abs very well, and you only need a few of them. If you know what you're doing, training the abdominal muscles isn't all that difficult or complicated. Unfortunately, most people are unaware of what this involves, and waste a lot of time with ineffective exercises.

Pillar #2 is getting your body fat down. It doesn't matter how well developed your stomach muscles are - you still won't see them if they are covered in a layer of fat. Now you know why so many people lack impressive abs even though they train them hard and often. Now, there are some excellent ways to shed body fat, but these are often lost in between all the myths and scams out there.

Pillar #3 is hardly ever referred to, but it's as vital as the other two. This final secret is that you should flatten the stomach from the inside too. Great abdominal muscles and low body fat are essential, but not enough. If your stomach is being pressed outwards by bloating or irritable bowel syndrome (I.B.S.), you will still look fat. Fortunately, there are some little-known methods you can use to fight back.

A perfect abdomen is a priceless treasure, so when you get it, treat it with pride and maintain it.
