The Eligibility for the students to apply for MBA programme in IGNOU is:
A student should have Bachelor's degree, with three years of managerial/ supervisory/professional experience or professional degree in streams like Architecture, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, or Technology or Professional Qualifications in Accountancy, Cost and Work Accountancy or Company Secretary Ship, or a Master's degree in any subject.
To take admission in IGNOU, for management programmes, the student would have to undergo an OPENMAT entrance exam, held in IGNOU, twice a year.
The most attractive aspect of the University is its Fee Structure. Each course has a fees of Rs. 800, payable at the time of admission or re-registration, which also incorporates the examination fees.
The Application procedure of the University is also as less complicated: Student’s handbook and prospectus are available at Registrar (SR&E), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi, or at all regional centres. The admissions process generally starts in June and ends in November.
The mode of Study is also as flexible for the students: IGNOU provides students with continuous evaluation and feedback. Students are given extensive project work which helps to learn and gain practical and relevant knowledge. Students are evaluated in the form of tutor--marked and computer-marked assignment, projects, term-end examination etc. The project work for MBA carries 20%-30% weightage while the final exams carry 70% -80% weightage. There are around 700 centers where the exam is conducted. MBA study material is available online or is delivered through post. More than one million packets are dispatched to students every year.
