Discover 5 Ways to Achieve Goals That Really Matter - By: John Quettan

Goal setting is pertinent to a successful life. It must also be done correctly to achieve optimal results.

Are you going for the unreachable goals. Goals that do not excite you. Do you often give up before you reach your goals? It gets disheartening sometimes. However, you do not have to reach that point.

With the proper game plan, you can achieve goals that you once thought were impossible.

Your goals should be your own and not someone else's. Do not try to become what your mother, father, or friends would like you to become!

What is Important to YOU?

Many people set goals to be wealthy, write a top-selling book, marry a celebrity, be prominent or be an influential person. If that's "really" what you want, then there is nothing wrong with that. Nonetheless, if they are just society's aspirations-and not yours - let them go, and consider what really makes a difference to you. What do you want from your life?

When you are making goals, pause and ask yourself, "What will bring me happiness, inner peace, and contentment?"

Your goals may include stuff like:

*Getting married
*Having kids
*Completing college
*Start your own business
*Changing jobs
*Assisting people
*Purchasing your own house
*Having material riches
*Being physically healthy
*Gaining spiritual enlightenment

Despite what you pick or the number of goals you have, you can attain them if you are devoted and focused on making them happen.

Making Your Dreams A Reality

Once you determine what "really" matters to you; write out your goals. Your goals will require some effort and watching them develop is thrilling and satisfying!

Follow these guidelines to assist you in achieving your goals:

1. Stay focused. Keep an image of the life you want at the front of your mind. When insignificant things attempt to distract you, as they will, do not forget to make choices in accordance to what is important to you.

Go in the direction of your goals daily. Every day do something that will get you a bit closer to attaining your goal.

*When complications come about do not become dis-heartened. Look for answers that can set you back on the right path. Just remain focused and change your plans as needed.

2. Remain open to change. Your goals are not etched in stone. A new goal does not mean you have given up. It only means that you have determined that your goals must change just as you change. It signifies growth and wisdom.

3. Set a realistic time frame. Some goals may be attained in a day. Some may take a week. Some can often take months or years. When you make goals, it is imperative to be realistic about how long you expect them to take.

*If the time line is too long you may put it off, or you may not begin at all.

*If the time line is too short; you may get discouraged if you do not meet your deadline.

4. Split your goal in smaller parts. Another wonderful method to attain your goals is to split large goals into smaller ones. Each small goal is one part, or one job, on the way to completing your ultimate goal.

* Set single deadlines for these small parts. This way, you will always be progressing, one part at a time.

* For instance, if your goal is to run your own company, there are aspects you will need to research. Such as licensing, income, credit, location, and so on. Each one of these jobs is one part. You can also split up these steps into even smaller goals.

5. Do not give up. Several people give up on their goals just before they accomplish them. Not knowing how close they were. Never give up! You may be closer than you realize.

These methods will allow you to both attain your goals and have fun along the way - all without getting overwhelmed!
