Satellite TV has become very expensive these days, most people are now watching satellite TV for free from the comfort of their own homes. There are definitely a lot of people paying for their satellite service every month. Whether it be Bell, Direct TV or Dish network, satellite TV is definitely not cheap. Monthly bills can add up fairly quick with all the PPV programming.

If you got a household of two working parents a satellite TV bill can be pretty expensive. Like, who would want to pay for it when you see all your neighbors getting the same programming as you are for free anyways?

Originally theses cards only let you watch your normal cable channels, but now with all the advancements in technology you can also watch satellite programming. Basically a PCTV card is a piece of hardware that you will have to purchase and either has to be installed in your computer or it will be an external connection. These cards are great, but for many people the turn off is the price which can vary from 200-500 dollars with installation, for a good reliable card. Also if you're not that tech savvy many people don't recommend this route.

DIY Satellite Kits

DIY stands for do it yourself satellite kits. Now these kits are a lot cheaper then getting a professional to come install your satellite. However, once again if you are not that tech savvy, you will definitely have lots of problems getting the system set up. You also have to install the satellites to your house or apartment, and if you don't have the right tools, I wouldn't really recommend you doing this. This is more of the solution for someone who is handy man or woman, and also very tech savvy.

Online Streams

Now the internet is also a great solution to getting some solid satellite programming. There are tons of websites that are streaming lots and lots of different channels. It's all free as well. So if you're like bored at work or need a break from studying this is a great solution. However, you will not be getting a lot of channels, and the channels you do get will not be good quality. This is one of the drawbacks with online streaming.

PC Satellite TV Software Programs

This by far is one of the better methods to getting some great satellite TV programming right on your PC. These programs allow you to watch satellite TV on your PC or laptop pretty much anywhere in the world. The great thing about these programs is that they have some great picture and sound quality, and also allow you to get up to 3000 channels including pay per view, adult entertainment and international channels.
