If you love fashion and you think you are meant to work with clothes, fabrics, textiles and so on, then you should consider getting one of those really cool retail fashion jobs. You do not have to be a fashion designer or a model, like what most people think if they want to work in the fashion industry. In fact, most retail fashion jobs do not require you to know about fashion designing or modelling. Of course, fashion designing and modelling are two of the most glamorous job in the industry of fashion but you can apply for other positions if you do not want to be a designer or a model.

There are several retail fashion jobs that you can choose from if you really want to work in the fashion industry. Here are the different types of retail fashion jobs.

- If you love the feel of luxurious fabric on your skin and you love to see the different textures and patterns of these fabrics, you should consider working in the textile manufacturing industry. If you are a textile manufacturer, you can be with your beloved fabrics 24/7. You will also feel significant because without your job, there will be no fashion industry. Textile manufacturing is the backbone of the fashion industry. Without fabric or textile, there will be no clothes, and without clothes, there will be no fashion.

- If you want to work closely with the fashion designer, you can work as a pattern maker. The fashion designer thinks about the design and translates his idea into drawings. And of course, you cannot create clothes straight from sketches. Patterns should be made first so that the clothes maker can easily turn the idea into something real and wearable. Your job as a pattern maker is to create patterns based on the fashion designer's ideas that the apparel manufacturer can turn into clothes.

- You can also be an apparel manufacturer. If you want to be in the production part of the fashion industry, working in the apparel manufacturing aspect of the industry would be perfect for you. It looks very exciting because you can see the ideas of the designer turn into actual clothes. These clothes will be mass-produced and distributed to the wholesaler for selling. After all the planning and brainstorming, you can finally see the clothes that will be distributed in different retail shops all over the county or even the world.

- The mass-produced clothes will be then distributed to the fashion wholesaler. The fashion wholesaler buys clothes directly from the manufacturer. They have to choose clothes that are trendy and fashionable. Otherwise, their stocks will not be sold. If you want to be a fashion wholesaler, you have to know the current fashion trend and styles that most people want.

- Finally, you can also be a retailer. If you own a retail fashion store, you need to buy clothes that the people in your area wear. For example, if your store is located in California, lightweight clothes that are perfect for strolling at the beach are perfect merchandise. Do not sell these kinds of clothes in, say, New York or other cold places.
