A graphic designer has been getting through a considerable number of printer ink cartridges over recent weeks thanks to a project he has embarked on.

Simon Hill has been creating his own range of hip-hop themed gift wrap, and has not been shy with his use of ink cartridges, thisisderbyshire.co.uk reports.

He started the firm Rapping Paper this summer and already claims to have sold hundreds of rolls to consumers as far away as Japan.

His works feature lyrics from music artists such as Eminem and Run DMC and may prove a hit with those keen to have something out of the ordinary with which to cover their presents.

The 26-year-old, who comes from the Australian city of Melbourne, got the idea for his enterprise after being handed an expensive gift by a family member.

He noted he was disappointed with the paper in which the item was wrapped.

Mr Hill subsequently approached record labels and asked their permission to use famous lyrics for his work.

They agreed and the entrepreneur has not looked back since.

And he would not have been able to achieve his goal without getting through many ink cartridges.

He commented: "A lot of A3 paper and gallons of printer ink later and I finally had my first version of Rapping Paper."

The designer added: "With my brother being a fan of rap music I thought it would be cool to wrap his present in the lyrics from the NWA song Straight Outta Compton."

Mr Hill, who now resides in London, went on to claim he has received considerable interest in his products, saying "things are going great".

The businessman may be well-advised to seek deals on his printer ink in order to reduce his running costs and the internet can be a good source of offers.
