Dental Internet Marketing Firm Goes Green - By: Sinai Marketing

November 17, 2008 - BOULDER, COLORADO - Being green isn't just for Kermit the Frog. More businesses are jumping onto the "green" bandwagon in an effort to promote conservation in their everyday business practices.

The Boulder, Colorado-based Dental Internet marketing firm Sinai Marketing recently decided to officially commit to changing some habits to make the company more environmentally friendly, said Founder and President Ali Husayni, a search engine optimization expert.

"I've always tried to be "green" and to help our environment and not waste, but the decision to work harder at it as a company was made last month," Husayni said. "My mother, who is LEED certified in construction, advocates green building and is our partner in the business, suggested that we should go green as a company."

Everyone should do their part to save the environment, he said. For Sinai Marketing, that means being mindful of the company's carbon footprint. Sinai's first step was ensuring that all the computers are turned off when staff leaves for the day. Employees also have implemented an in-office recycling program for plastic, cans, paper and other waste.

The office stopped printing documents unless it was absolutely necessary, Husayni said.

Going green sometimes means doing without the latest and greatest in office technology and equipment. Sinai's office equipment isn't replaced unless it is absolutely necessary.

"We're living without new office furniture," Husayni said. "We want to use and repair things until they no longer function, it no longer is financially feasible to repair the items or we have someone else who could use them."

In the future, plans include switching the office computers to Apple, "which last much longer than regular PCs," he said.

The Dental Internet marketing firm also plans to support clean energy by donating some of its profit to this cause.
