Let me tell you about three simple ways to defend yourself in a nasty situation. There are three simple types of punch which if you know you can simply knock off any trouble at hand:

1) The most used form of a punch is the straight punch. It is also the most used one in all the forms of martial arts. The technique is simple; when the assailant attacks you use your left hand to block that attack and the right fist to punch him/her in the ribs. A perfect punch will break your assailant’s ribs.

2) Another form is the uppercut usually used to hit taller assailants. Say the assailant strikes you a blow now you will need to dodge that blow in mid air and also hit back at his chin using a punch. This is hit rightly can break your opponents jaw.

3) The last style is the palm strike. This is quite similar to the upper cut except for the usage of your palms instead of your fist. This is an equally fatal blow.
