Are you living in a day dream? Are you mentally moved away from reality? Welcome to the club, you are not alone. There are millions of people out who have the same problem. Because of whatever reason they slowly move away from reality into a dream world where things are eventually better than in real life. While this might be for many that requires to talk to a doctor, there is something about this that you can use to improve your life and to motivate yourself much better.

If you live under a lot of stress, getting away from it all is important to stay healthy. Everyone has to find his or her own way to fight stress. Some people use drugs, including cigarettes or alcohol (or worse, but that shall not be part of this article) to fight stress. Others work out. Especially running has been a proven tool to work out the stress and to reset the internal clock back to start. And then there is the option to drift into a world of dream and imagination, but only for a while.

What exactly does this mean? How can you benefit from it?

Stress puts your body under pressure. While some stress can actually be good for you (it's a protective mechanism of your body), too much of it goes into the opposite side of things. It's bad for your health, several studies have shown this. Drifting into the world of dream and imagination (and I describe this in easy terms) is like putting a filter between yourself and reality. This filter helps your brain to recover from the stress. While mechanism is mainly imitated during nighttime when we sleep, there are lots of ways to reach the same mental state while being awake. It is not something you can easily achieve, but you also do not need to learn meditation, even though it might help many people to reach this kind of mental state.

This article will not teach you techniques to reach the state of being a "Day Dreamer". We will go into more detail about this in another article that will be published shortly.

Conclusion: There are many ways to fight stress. Each person might have a different way of dealing with stress. Some people just give in and look for the easy way out (=drugs), while other try to turn the negative impact of stress into something positive.
